The Spooky Halloween Tag

Kelly did this tag as a video and it was fun to watch. Figured I’d blog it!

1. Favourite horror or Halloween-themed song?

Eh. I don’t know.

2. Name something you wouldn’t want to run into in a dark forest or in an abandoned building.

Something that’ll eat me alive! Or other people. The spookiest things I encounter in the forest are other people.

3. Have you ever played with a Ouija Board?

Once. It was rather uneventful of course.

4. Favourite horror monster or villain?

I’m not the biggest horror-fan so this is a tough one for me. I don’t like monsters or villains. Um. Oogie Boogie?

5. The creepiest thing that’s ever happened while you were alone?

One time I heard a man heavily sigh right next to me.

6. If you were dared to spend the night in a “haunted house”, would you do it?

Yaaaaaaas. This is on my bucket list!

7. Are you superstitious?

8. Do you ever see figures in your peripheral vision?

When I was trying my hand at being a Christian I would constantly see what looked like white feathery wing tips. But only in one particular church.

9. Which urban legend scares you the most?

I think the only one I know of, through other people just mentioning it, is Bloody Mary. All I know about it is it involves a mirror… and saying something in it at night? And that doesn’t seem scary to me. Yeah, I’m not very exciting in the scary/horror category 🙂

10. Do you prefer gore or thrillers?

Thrillers! Especially psychological!

11. Do you believe in multiple dimensions or worlds?

Eh. I think it could be possible.

12. Ever made a potion of any sort?

I feel like I have, especially as a child. That seems like something I’d do.

13. Do you get scared easily?

I don’t think so.

14. Have you ever played Bloody Mary?

15. Do you believe in demons/the devil?

16. You’re home alone but you hear footsteps in your house, what do you do?

I quickly go over the scenario. Is there some way that someone could have gotten in? Did I forget that someone (like a repair man) was coming? If it doesn’t seem likely I’ll probably ignore it. I’ve heard plenty of strange things like that before. If I feel like there’s a chance someone broke in I’d find a hiding place and prepare to call 911.

17. If you got trapped in one scary movie, which would you choose?

I’m with Kelly: The Others. Or maybe The Awakening. Just because the house is big and cool. And it would be kind of fun.

18. If you could only wear one Halloween costume for the rest of your life, what would you be?

This year I’m kind of thinking of being a creepy doll, which I know I won’t be getting around to doing anyway. But still, I think it would be fun to go every year!

19. would you ever go to a graveyard at night?

I have and I would do it again. Fun tip: One time I thought I saw a white ghostly figure waving at me. It was juuuuuust as there was still a little light left and I didn’t have my glasses on so I’m sure it was a trick of the light but it was fun to think of as a ghost.

20. In a zombie apocalypse what is your weapon of choice?

Some sort of shot gun, I guess?

21. Would you rather go to a Halloween party or go trick or treating?

Party. I had enough trick or treating as a kid.

22. You’re in a horror movie. Are you the final girl, the first to die, the comic relief, the skeptic, the smart one, or the killer?

What’s a final girl? Eh, probably the skeptic or the smart one.

23. Do you have to watch something happy after watching a horror movie so you can go to sleep?

24. Whilst watching scary movies, are you the person who yells at the characters, the person with their eyes covered the whole time, or the person who falls asleep?

Either yelling at the characters or falling asleep. Mostly the former.

25. Are you the one who gets scared, or the one who does the scaring?

Gets scared. I hate being startled (makes me feel like I’m going to pass out) so I would never do that shit to someone else! And I feel bad when I do it by accident.

26. Favorite scary book?

Can’t say I’ve read many scary books. Maybe It by Stephen King?

27. How old were you when you saw your first horror movie?

I don’t remember but it was definitely when I was under 10.

28. What was your first Halloween costume?

I don’t remember my first but the earliest I remember is a pink princess dress.

29. What are you going to be for Halloween this year?

Probably nothing, as usual. But I’d love to be a creepy doll.

30. If you could have a spooky Halloween pet (black cat, owl, bat, rat, wolf), what would you pick?

I’ve had pet rats, they’re awesome but not spooky. I LOVE OWLS but they’re not spooky either. I may have to go with a raven. They’re so beautiful, can look a bit spooky, and they’re damn smart.

Goth ‘o Ween haul

Michaels was having a huge sale, as usual. I finally got to go. I wanted to get supplies to make a Halloween wreath. I also wanted to be a tacky goth and take this glorious opportunity to buy some decor items.

Decorating is rather difficult right now because our apartment is still a bit empty and not well put together. But at least I’ve got a head start now.

wreath stuff

Here’s a preview of what the wreath is going to look like. I’ve never made one before. I’m really dreading it. I’ve already got started and there’s purple glitter everywhere. Not complaining though.

decor stuff

These frames are amazing. They’re a heavy material, like resin maybe? I also like the shifty photos. I don’t know what pics I’m going to replace them with or what I’ll do with the shifty pics but that doesn’t really matter when they’re so awesome. Right? …. right?!

That dish bowl thing… I had a million different ideas for it so I’m glad I grabbed it.

The skull/bird was just too awesome to pass up. It’ll be a permanent addition to my bookshelf.

The candle is shit. The throw is terrible. Would not recommend if you want any scent in your room. I’m pretty pissed about that.

I stuck the bat stickers up to greet you as you walk through the door. Less than an hour later half of them were on the floor. #fml

I’ve already assembled the bat garland. It’s really fun and I’ve got a few ideas for it!

Those fun label things are on thin wood. I immediately knew I wanted to turn them into refrigerator magnets. I forgot to buy the magnets while I was there but ordered some off Amazon when I got home.

crafty stuff

Halloweeny stamps! I really shouldn’t have bought these. I don’t usually use specialty themed stamps. But I figure I can use most of them as spoopy, non-seasonal stamps. I want to use them mainly in my shitty Bullet Journal.

Ugh. I hate glue guns but I really need it for so many things.

All the jewelry bits and bops are going to be fun to play with. The little bottles in the back have playing cards and postcards in them, I wanted them mainly for my dolls. The bottles in the front, I want to put graveyard dirt in them and make them into necklaces. The other things I’m hoping will be nice additions to chainmail jewelry.

And last we have some socks! The material feels kind of shitty but what do you expect for the price? I kind of needed some more tall socks though, so I won’t complain too much.

So that’s it! I’ll update on all the projects when they’re done.

Have you done any any Halloween hauls lately??

Small Halloweeny haul!

Went to Target and CVS for body wash and shampoo. Came out with some other goodies as well! These are all very small things so they’ll be easy to pack while we’re still hoppin’ airbnbs and apartment hunting. Everything as pretty dang cheap as well so that’s nice.

I’m going to be some sort of spider queen person thing for Halloween so I’ve got some spidery tattoo things to help with the look. I also grabbed some false lashes. I figured I’ll probably be going without my glasses anyway to show off my shitty makeup so might as well try some falsies to enhance the look!

I also got 2 different types of leggings because this is the best time of year to get awesome leggings. One pair is just a general torn look and the other is more webby. I’ll probably wear the webby ones with my spider queen look.

Then we have some crew socks which I’m totally going to turn into some wrist warmer things. You know, just in case the temp drops below 90.

Then we’ve got an Eat, Drink, and be Scary sign WHICH I LOVE. Not pictured is a bottle of me

And then the most impractical thing I grabbed were the spoopy window decal sticker thingies. Impractical because we don’t have a window to call our own yet. But these are something I’d have up year round and they’re cheap, so why not get ’em?

LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS A TOTALLY AWESOME SPOOPY SKELETON DOLL! I’m calling it a doll because it’s fully articulated, even the jaw. I think she’s going to help me model my manicures and when she’s not doing to be ding that she’s going to hang off my purse. Yeah she’s kinda big for that but I think it’ll be fine.

I’ve never been so excited for Halloween before. I always am but there’s something different about this year.

There’s some other things I would love to get for my costume but I don’t know if I’ll be able to get them. I’ll post if I do!

So have you made favorite seasonal hauls lately? Tell me what your favorite find was!

The Halloween Tag!

All the cool kids are doing this Halloween tag thing. I tagged myself because nobody knows I’m here :-p

I’m supposed to tag 5 other bloggers but I don’t know anybody that I’m sure would be interested. So if you are interested, you’re tagged!

13. Pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate?

1. Favorite Halloween song?
Probably This is Halloween from Nightmare Before Christmas!
2. Witch or Vampire?
Most defiantly witch! Vampires are all fine and dandy but I just love witches of any kind. I may even have a bit of an obsession with them…
3. Favorite thing about Halloween?

There’s something in the air this time of year. The energy of shifting seasons is just magical. Oh, and all the cool stuff that comes out in stores that I wish was out year-round 🙂

 4. Halloween party or scary movie marathon?
I’m not too great at parties, so a movie marathon.

5. Skeletons or Zombies?

Totally skeletons! Zombies are way overrated and don’t seem too Halloweeny to me. Plus I love killing skeletons in certain video games. They make a certain crunchy sound that’s so satisfying.

6. Favorite Halloween candy?
I love Junior Mints and Kit kat bars.
7. Favorite Halloween movie?
I’ll be predictable and say Nightmare Before Christmas.
8. Favorite Halloween costume?
I love any costume as long as it’s something properly spooky or scary. None of those stupid sexy costumes and whatnot.
9. Favorite Halloween store?

I’ve never actually seen a Halloween store.

10. Jack-o-lanterns, yes or no?
Seems I loved doing them as a kid. I don’t have any desire to carve them as an adult but I do appreciate the theme!
11. Bats or Black Cats?
That’s not a fair question. The answer is obviously both 🙂
12. Is Halloween your favorite holiday?

Yup! I look forward to it every year even though I know 9/10 I won’t be able to participate in it.

13. Pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate?
I LOVE pumpkin spice lattes but its hard getting a good one. Hot chocolate is for later in the year when it starts getting chilly and I also have some booze on hand 😉
